I think Josef Pieper’s “Leisure: The Basis of Culture” would make a good addition to your lists. Augustine’s “Confessions” - a must.

Just reread Lord of the Rings Trilogy as part of a reading club. So many great discussions of characters and modeling of Christian behavior.

I am re reading the Lord of the Rings right now as well! I agree with you Dan, so much to learn from Tolkien in this epic trilogy

Love and Respect changed our marriage for the better. So much good in CS Lewis, as well. One of our pastors leads a weekly class on a CS Lewis book; we are almost done with the Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. He even podcasts it! Great list—thank you!

I have never read Love and Respect but have heard great things, Cheryl. That is awesome that your pastor is teaching through Lewis. I think his works are best read with others!
