I’ve not read much Steinbeck (only Of Mice and Men I think) but I have a few on my shelf. Should pull one down for my next fiction read.

His books are very well written. I love his descriptions of the people. To me that is where he excels

Nice idea Ryan, got East of Eden next on my list- would recommend The Winter of Our Discontent if you ever return to Steinbeck (just reviewed it if you're interested)!

I love this idea of reading multiple works by an author in a fairly short time frame - and that you included a movie adaptation, too! I've only read one Steinbeck but have had Travels With Charley on my TBR forever. Your post is making me want to pick it up sooner rather than later. Thanks for sharing, Ryan!

You're welcome! I am growing to enjoy these mini dives into an authors work. It is nice to be able to immerse yourself in the writing and compare books to each other.

I really need to get back into reading Steinbeck! I had to read _Of Mice and Men_ in high school and (sadly) haven't revisited since. I read _Travels with Charley in Search of America_ semi-recently and absolutely adored it--have you read it?

I have Travels with Chaley on my bookshelf and almost read it as part of this plan but I needed a little Steinbeck break. I may read it later in the year

The Pearl is my favorite Steinbeck book and I don't see it talked about often. Also short but fun read. Highly recommend.

The Pearl was going to be my next read so I may pick it up soon. I've heard great things
